Children aged 12–16 years are primarily characterized by a puberty jump (“growth explosion”), which provides a critical mass for girls (49 kg) 1-3 and the accumulation of plastic material for steroidogenesis in boys. During this period, secondary sexual characteristics and the normal functioning of the reproductive sphere of adolescents are finally formed. However, this period has significant polymorphism, which is very important to consider when assessing the state of the endocrine system (ES) in adolescents. Therefore, the aim of this study was to study the features of the functioning of ES in girls aged 12-16 years and boys 13-16 years old.

The work was carried out on the basis of the Central Scientific Research Laboratory of the SSMA (Head of the Central Scientific Research Laboratory G.N. Fedorov), the outpatient clinic of the Clinical Hospital of Children's Clinical Hospital (head physician V.M. Oleinikova).
